Greater Manchester

Background

The city-region's strengths and challenges were identified by the Manchester Independent Economic Review and were translated into the Greater Manchester Strategy when this was signed off by the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA) in July 2009. The strategy sets out a vision for sustainable , private-sector led growth across Greater Manchester and identifies priorities for action.

The Greater Manchester LEP will play a key role in continuing to shape the strategy and overseeing delivery in a number of areas:

  • Employment and Skills
  • Business Support for New Businesses and Growth
  • Inward Investment and International Trade
  • Marketing and Tourism
  • European Funding
  • Low-Carbon Economy
  • Planning, Housing and Transport
  • Research and Strategy Development
