The ISSUE Transport Conference - De Montfort University
Businesses across the region are invited to attend a major international transport conference taking place next month.
THE ISSUE Conference 2014, hosted by De Montfort University (DMU), is a free two-day conference which will bring together key players from Government, industry and academia to explore how new technology can be used to tackle today’s transport problems.
The conference offers businesses across the region an unrivalled opportunity to meet policy makers and researchers, network with others within the sector and take part in workshops and presentations.
Companies can also pitch their services and products, as well as find out the latest Government and European funding schemes designed to help industry solve the challenges. There is also exhibitor space available for those wishing to present their businesses and products to key people in the sector.
Held at Holywell Park Conference Centre, Loughborough, from February 11 to 12, the event will cover topics including congestion, low-carbon vehicles, funding opportunities, innovation in rail, urban mobility, modal shift and how to take a collaborative approach in the way in which we ease traffic problems.
Dr Eric Goodyer, from DMU’s Inter-Disciplinary Group in Intelligent Transport Systems (ISSUE), said:
“We are delighted to host this regional conference on behalf of THE ISSUE.
“By bringing together policy makers, industry, and university researchers we have started the process of developing highly relevant supply chains. At a time of Europe-wide austerity, this joined-up approach to research and development will provide properly focused and cost-effective solutions to urban and regional transport problems.”
Author and comedian Tony Hawks will be guest speaker at a prestigious gala dinner being held on February 11, talking about his travels and transport experiences. Gala tickets are £50 to include a three-course meal and reception drinks. It is a perfect opportunity to meet key people and network.
