‘The Business in You’ is a campaign aiming to help small and medium sized businesses
The Prime Minister, in conjunction with BIS, is launching a campaign on 23rd January. The objective is to encourage businesses and people with ideas to act and the proposition is that all business people or ‘would be’ entrepreneurs have dreams about unrealised potential in their businesses and that the Government need to encourage them to act on their ambitions. The plan is to showcase a wide variety of case studies of businesses who have done great things in often difficult circumstances and still succeeded. It is also an opportunity to communicate to SMEs that there is a lot of information and help available to them through a wide variety of sources, both Government and private sector funded.
There is a variety of partners on board already - including the Banks through BBA and the Better Business Finance Campaign, Ernst & Young, Grant Thornton, Mitie, Microsoft, Start Up Britain and their other partners and all the business representative bodies as well as the Institute of Credit Management, ACCA and ICAEW.
Whitehall will be co-ordinating a programme to get Ministers to meet SMEs in their sectors. An Enterprise Calendar has been developed which plans out the campaign over the next 12 months. It will focus on a different theme of start ups and growth, with mini-launches that will spotlight key government business support products, e.g. exporting and employment.
