New Anglia to host second major conference

New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership has announced its second major conference which will bring to together the business community from across Norfolk and Suffolk

The event will be held at the John Innes Conference Centre, Norwich Research Park on Tuesday 27th March 2012 and is open to any business, organisation or individual that wants to:

  • learn about New Anglia’s latest activities, the successes, challenges and pathway ahead
  • discover new business opportunities through the development of these activities
  • be inspired by local  business leaders telling the stories behind their companies

Andy Wood, chairman of New Anglia said:

"Following the success of our first major business event, held in the Apex, Bury St Edmunds last year, we thought it important to bring the businesses in Suffolk and Norfolk together, once again.

A core part of the event is to enable business people to learn about, and grasp, some of the exciting business opportunities which New Anglia is delivering for Suffolk and Norfolk.

So, we’re delighted that the Port of Felixstowe has come on a board as the main sponsor of the event.  They are a major business in the region employing 30,000 jobs locally and it will give the audience an opportunity to find out more about their recent £300 million investment and what it means to the region.

It’s also an opportunity for businesses to meet each other, share ideas and make important contacts for the future."

Topics covered will include opportunities in the green economy, the enterprise zone.  There will also be the launch of new sector strategies and a business information portal to support businesses.

Andy Wood will share with the audience the successes, challenges and the pathway ahead for New Anglia.

In addition, Jason Borthwick, from Norfolk-based Deepdale Farm and Earthly Ideas will be sharing the story behind the diversification of his business.

Young Suffolk entrepreneur, Ben Bowles of stage lighting and production company CEG productions, will be talking about the tough challenges his business faced and the business opportunities grasped.
