DECC has committed funds to establish the Heat Networks Delivery Unit (HNDU) this autumn. The HNDU will support local authorities and local economic partnerships in England and Wales through the process of developing heat networks.
The HNDU will manage a fund of £6m over two years, which will be available to local authorities and local economic partnerships. It will contribute to the cost of procuring technical reports and advice on the phases of a heat network’s development.
At this roadshow event hosted by CLASP, representatives from local authorities and local enterprise partnerships can find out more about:
- · The range of support that will be available from the HNDU team
- · The timeline for allocating funding and support this financial year
- · The criteria for support and funding ahead of applications opening formally
- · An update on the recruitment of the project team
The agenda will include:
- · Presentation by DECC on the Heat Networks Delivery Unit and what it can offer local authorities and local enterprise partnerships
- · Presentation by local authorities currently developing heat network projects, including those through the DECC supported Low Carbon Pioneer Cities Project
- · Opportunity for discussion and Q&A with DECC about the delivery of the HNDU
