David Frost wishes you a Merry Christmas
"Can I take the opportunity to wish you a Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
As we look back at the end of the year I am taken aback by the sheer scale of challenges that have been thrown at LEPs and more impressively how the network of LEPs has delivered the growth agenda. It is the diversity of LEPs and the imaginative way that local problems are being tackled that has left the strongest impression on me.
It is now clear that the Government is positioning LEPs centre stage as the announcements in the Autumn Statement highlighted.
We are already planning for 2013. Invitations have gone out to Ministers to speak at the Annual Conference on 18th April and acceptances have already been received.
2013 will be dominated by ensuring that LEPs develop the tools that have been laid out by Lord Heseltine and the Chancellor-a balance between local determination and delivery and a growth strategy at the centre.
The LEP Network wil be working with you to achieve this.
2013 will certainly be a interesting year".
