Best-practice sharing in action
The Network was set up to provide the opportunity for LEPs to both share best practice and also to educate and inform. The last fortnight has seen this in action. The latest in our series of workshops have been on the topics of Skills and Planning where we brought together key officials and practitioners from across the Network. Both of these sessions have highlighted in very practical ways the role that LEPs can play in their local economies, and importantly the important role that Government sees for LEPs... |

Round 3 of the Regional Growth Fund (RGF) opened in February 2012
Round 2 saw several LEPs successfully access RGF funding to deliver programmes of activity.
By using a programme approach, LEPs can co-ordinate bids at a local level that individually
would fall below the minimum bid size. To access RGF in the third round, applicants must
submit an application form and supporting documentation by the closing date of 13 June...
Growing Places Fund Allocations Confirmed by DCLG
This month Ministers confirmed the allocations to LEPs of the �500milllion Growing Places
Fund, designed to boost economic growth by getting the required infrastructure built to
enable the creation of new homes and jobs and get stalled projects moving again...
