APPG on Local Growth invites evidence for inquiry into the effectiveness of LEPs

The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Local Growth, LEPs and Enterprise Zones warmly invites contributions from businesses, LEPs, local authorities and others to an inquiry into the effectiveness to date of LEPs in creating the conditions for sustainable local economic growth and private sector job growth

The APPG was established in October 2011 to ensure that local growth and LEP issues maintained a high profile in Parliament, and has attracted strong interest across parties and from Ministers. This is its first inquiry and should be a timely opportunity for individuals, businesses and organisations involved in local growth and Local Enterprise Partnerships to communicate their perspectives, ideas and concerns to policymakers.

The terms of reference and a timetable for the inquiry can be found here - the deadline for expressing an interest in giving evidence in person is 25th June 2012, with hearings to be held in July, and the deadline for submitting written evidence is 1st August 2012.

For more information about the inquiry, see here or contact Majeed Neky at Westminster City Council, who provide the secretariat for the APPG, on [email protected] or 020 7641 2127.
