Continued availability of RDAs' published legacy information

England's RDAs closed at the end of June 2012

Over their lifetime, the RDAs published a large amount of economic research and information. The attached table is a summary of where people can now go to access that published information. In summary, information is available through the RDAs' archived websites and from local partners to whom RDAs transferred their legacy information.

The National Archives have published all the archived RDA websites in the UK Government Web Archive.  A themed collection of these sites is at:

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/webarchive/regional-development-agencies.htm

In addition, RDAs transferred legacy information to local partners, who have generally made this legacy information available through the following sites.

AWM

Access to the research and other outputs produced by the West Midlands Regional Observatory is available via the Business Birmingham web site as a condition of the transfer of the Observatory to Marketing Birmingham:

The Yorkshire Forward Chief Economist Unit moved to become the Regional Economic Intelligence Unit at Leeds City Council.  Their economic information and intelligence is available at:

http://www.leeds.gov.uk/Business/Business_support_and_advice/Local_economy__reports_and_forecasts/Regional_Economic_Intelligence_Unit.aspx

From July 2012 archived regional economic intelligence (and sign posting) will be available from the re-designed “Leeds.gov.uk” domain, with clearer and easier navigation and tagging to allow those searching for former RDA content.

The REIU will act as a primary point of contact for any legacy research requests with the unit having access to all of the primary and secondary economic intelligence, research and research reports owned by Yorkshire Forward and formally transferred to Leeds City Council.  The unit will assist with any queries for the retrieval of former RDA research reports; more detailed or labour intensive requests will incur costs for any work.
